Upon entering NWFE, Karl Killigan never felt he was taken seriously. So he declared his “reign of torture” had begun to show the world the pain that was given to him. Killigan began using a submission style where he quickly takes down his opponents and ties them up in submission holds.

According to Karl Killigan, no one still took him seriously. But he raised a few eyebrows when he fought NWF Europe’s resident psychotic Psycho Chancery in a bull rope match. Karl Killigan beat Psycho Chancery by binding him up in the bull rope and applying his trademark submission move “BTK” which, for the first time, made Psycho Chancery give up. His fellow NWF Europe wrestlers gave him the nick name “merciless” after that.
