Iceberg made his ACW debut in 1998 along side his stable mates Mr. Freeze, Ice Cube, and Glassier. They called themselves the Frozen Four. Mr. Freeze was the leader of this stable and he lead the Frozen Four to some early quick victories over some more established wrestlers.
Then very quickly the rest of the ACW roster got wise to the Frozen Four. They could tell that the four men were very charismatic and entertaining but lacked a little bit in the wrestling skills department. So the other wrestlers would go after them and exploit there lack of wrestling skills and the Frozen Four fell on some hard times.
With the weaknesses of the Frozen Four common knowledge to the whole roster the losses piled up quick. Then the ACW management came to them and said that they could either give there notices or they could accept a development deal to the new ACW Europe training facility. Now with the choice of loosing there jobs or going to ACWE the Frozen Four made the no brainer decision to go to ACWE.
One thing that Iceberg himself learned in ACWE is now what he is known for and that is the Bounce. The fans over in Europe loved the Bounce making Iceberg one of the biggest stars in ACWE when he was over there. When Iceberg came over to America he thought he would be a fan favorite, but that was not the case.
After being in ACWE for around a year Shockra made the decision to send the Frozen Four to the main roster. Apon making their return to the main roster they knew they needed to make an impact, and an impact they made when Iceberg and Mr. Freeze won the Tag Team titles. This big victory made a statement to the ACW that the Frozen Four learned a thing or two over in ACWE.
Now that Iceberg and Mr. Freeze won the Tag Team titles they thought it would be a good idea to split the Frozen Four into two tag teams to rule the tag division. Mr. Freeze and Iceberg called themselves Below Zero and Glassier and Ice Cube were called Celsius. After only having one successful reign as champions, the two teams started to struggle again with out being a complete unit. This split into two teams is considered by most to be the down fall of the Frozen Four.
Then around 2000 and 2001 the ACW started to trim down the roster and weed out some of the weaker performers, and once again the ACW management told the Frozen Four that they were possibly on the chopping block. With this announcement the Frozen Four split up in hope of making an impact on there own trying to save there jobs.
Now on his own Iceberg struggled a little bit trying to find his place on the roster. Although Iceberg was still gaining hatred from the crowd by doing his bounce, he was not gaining victories, that is, until he was taken under the wing of an old friend of his, Josh McMullin.
With Josh McMullin allowing Iceberg to hang around his stables Iceberg was starting to pick up some of McMullin’s dirty tricks, and wrestling know how. Now armed with the ticks and backup of McMullin and his other stable mates Iceberg quickly when on the winning path, by winning the Cruiserweight, Tv and the International title (now retired).
Since Iceberg began to taste gold his confidence began to rise higher and higher to the point were he would challenge for the ACW World heavyweight title. With his new alliances Iceberg was successful in his quest to become the ACW World champion on numerous occasions.
After almost being fired then sent to ACWE for more training Iceberg molded himself into on of the most successful wrestlers in the companies history. Following the World title reigns Iceberg wanted to continue his legacy by beating some of the biggest names the wrestling world has ever seen, so Iceberg set his sights on Armstrong.
Armstrong and Iceberg would trade many victories back and forth, but it would all come to an end at Collision Course 3 when they met in the semi-finals to crown a new ACW World champion. Iceberg came in the match in shape and ready to take on the large Armstrong. Unfortunately Armstrong would pick up the win over Iceberg continuing a losing trend for Iceberg at Collision Course for many years to come.
Then not to long after Collision Course 3 the rosters were split into two because the government took over the company due to tax problems Vince McMullin was having. During the roster split Iceberg was drafted by Chaos while his best buddy Josh McMullin was on Mayham, but also Jake Pain was drafted by Chaos. Jake Pain and Josh McMullin were the closest of friends and Jake was in every one of McMullin’s stables.
With McMullin on Mayham Iceberg and Pain decided to start a stable of there own on Chaos called Pain and Punishment. Alexander Morton and Ellina Blazer were also in the stable with them. This foursome was extremely successful. They would go on to with the stable of the year award for 2003.
Just before Collision Course 4 the rosters merged back together, and Josh McMullin and Jake Pain started to hang out together again leaving Iceberg shut out. With Iceberg looking in from the outside a rift started to grow between McMullin, Pain, and Iceberg. When Iceberg finally blew up and ended the friendship with McMullin the fans really began to embrace Iceberg.
Having the fans behind Iceberg really lit a fire in Iceberg and rejuvinated his career. Iceberg once again began to take on the top tear talent in the ACW, and began flourishing, Except at Collision Course. Iceberg knew that he could never be considered one of the best ever if he couldn’t win at the biggest show of the year.
Rolling into Collision Course 7 Iceberg was having the best year of his career. After beating James Lyght at the Owen Hart Memorial PPV 2005 Iceberg was the number one contender for the World title, and the World champion at the time was the most dominant wrestler in the company Hypnosis.
Iceberg had an up hill battle to gain his first win at Collision Course. The weeks leading up to Collision Course 7 Hypnosis got Iceberg’s best friend and brother Eric to turn on him, and then when Hypnosis didn’t need Eric any more Hypnosis destroyed Eric sending him to the hospital enraging Iceberg even more.
Hypnosis had Iceberg in a blind rage going into Collision Course7. This match for Iceberg had so much riding on it now not only his first victory at Collision Course, but his record setting 7th world title reign, revenge for his brother, and his pride. Iceberg and Hypnosis went at it tooth and nail in the match. It may have been the most intense match in ACW history. Iceberg took everything that the Monster of Madness had and kept coming back to finally subdue Hypnosis to win the match in the main event.
In Iceberg’s career he has accomplished many things. He has beaten just about every major superstar in the company, he has been the ACW World champion a record setting 7 time’s, he’s won every major title in the company, and he won the World title in the main event a the biggest show of the year against the best wrestler in the company. How does it get any better than that?
Even after accomplishing all of that Iceberg continues to be one of the top wrestlers in the world, and I don’t see it ending any time soon. For his strong Ice-Men and fine Ice-Women Iceberg will keep on Bouncing!
