Hypnosis made his ACW debut in 2001 to a some what impressive showing. Hypnosis has great size at six ten three hundred and twenty seven pounds, and he used his size to his advantage. Hypnosis at this point in time was really quite and kept to himself. But even with his size it seemed like Hypnosis was missing some thing.
Hypnosis gained some success, but never anything of great substance. After competing in mediocrity for a year or so Hypnosis went a way for a while, and when he came back Hypnosis and the ACW were changed forever. The monster of madness was apon us.
When Hypnosis returned to the ACW he had an eye tattooed on his left hand, and he began talking to it. He even waves the eye in his opponents faces to try and intimidate or hypnotize them. With the eye on his hand Hypnosis became very vocal. He will take any opportunity to get inside the heads of his opponents.
Now with the eye guiding him Hypnosis was set to unleash his reign of dominance on the ACW roster. Hypnosis’ first target was the ACW World heavy weight champion James Lyght, but if he wanted to get to Lyght he had to go threw Lyght’s new found friend Josh McMullin. So Hypnosis faced off against the former World champion Josh McMullin at Ambush 2003. Hypnosis was very impressive in the match totally destroying McMullin and injuring him for 3 months.
With the win over McMullin Hypnosis now set his sight on the champion James Lyght. Hypnosis was once again on fire beating James Lyght like we have never seen before. Unfortunately Lyght was able to beat Hypnosis by rolling him up and pulling the tights for the one, two, three. Hypnosis was livid because he was so confident that he would win the title that he didn’t have a rematch stipulation in his contract. So now Hypnosis was out of the World title picture for a while.
After missing out on winning the World title Hypnosis set his sights on the unbeatable man, Nick Richards. Nick Richards is the North American champion and has been the champion for 25 months coming into the match against Hypnosis at the Owen Hart Memorial PPV 2003. The match was highly contested, but Hypnosis used his size and ability to defeat Richards ending his 25 month title reign the greatest reign in history. In the match Hypnosis once again proved to the world that he is the most dominate wrestler in the company.
Hypnosis was now on a major roll. Hypnosis was beating everyone in front of him, and Hypnosis would face anyone who would challenge him. One of those people who would challenge him would be Armstrong. Armstrong just like Hypnosis has size and ability. Armstrong is one of the greatest wrestlers in ACW history, and was a great test for Hypnosis’ North American title. Hypnosis would go on to have many great matches with Armstrong ending in draws, but finally Hypnosis was able to gain the victory over the legend, once again showing his greatness.
Hypnosis continued to roll over just about everyone that was put in front of him. With his mind games almost crippling his opponents before even stepping in the ring it was no problem for him to defeat every one in his path.
It was looking like he would even break Nick Richards impressive title reign, but that was not meant to be, because Hypnosis would cross paths with one of the most bizarre wrestlers of all time, Raptoid. Raptoid is a mindless dinosaur that doesn’t understand much except wrestling, so Hypnosis’ mind games had no effect on him. Most of the match went Hypnosis’ way. That is until Raptoid was able to lock on the Mists of Raptoid and put the giant man to sleep and win the North American title.
Losing the North American title was a little set back to Hypnosis, but it didn’t stop him. Hypnosis kept on taking on all comers and usually knocking them down. Hypnosis would go on a monster tare in the ACW beating just about everyone. People like Dylan Sam Gaurd, Hung Lo, Dayhawk, Safety Guy, and Houston.
Hypnosis’ run would once again bring him face to face with the World title, and the person holding the title would be an old foe, Josh McMullin. The two would do battle at the Owen Hart Memorial ppv in a very brutal and bloody contest. McMullin was hell bent on getting revenge on Hypnosis for injuring him so many years ago, but to the dismay of McMullin Hypnosis won the World title beginning the rain of the Monster of Madness.
The first challenger of Hypnosis’ title reign came at the biggest show of the year Collision Course 7, and that challenger was Iceberg. Iceberg is another one of the ACW’s greatest competitors of all time. Hypnosis immediately began the mind games with Iceberg by getting his brother to turn his back on him. As Iceberg was in shock of the betrayal of his brother, Hypnosis came in and bloodied Iceberg. After he gave Iceberg the beating he then turned on Iceberg’s brother, Eric, and beat him severely sending him to the hospital enraging Iceberg.
Then at the main event of Collision Course 7, Hypnosis and Iceberg had an epic match. Iceberg was able to do what no other wrestler was able to do, and that is bust him open and pin him in the middle of the ring.
Even with the huge set back Hypnosis continues to be one of the most dominant wrestlers in the entire world. I think it is safe to say that Hypnosis has not seen the World title for the last time. The reign of the Monster of Madness will most likely reign again.
