Gangrel exploded into the NWF along with Christian, Edge and his twin brother Lastot. Gangrel went on path to the world title by starting at the bottom and winning practically every title. Finally Gangrel made it to the first NWF pay per view and became the second NWF World Champion in its history. And Gangrel has teamed with Edge to become multi-time champions with him. His brother Lastot eventually turned his back on the Brood and joined the Ministry. This started a blood feud between Gangrel and the Undertaker. The matches between Gangrel and the Undertaker are legendary within the NWF. But this feud resulted in the retirement for both men, as each one beat each other in retirement matches. For his legendary matches in the NWF, Gangrel was inducted into the hall of fame.

Gangrel became involved in the NWF once more, when he entered himself into the NWF $25,000 Open at Collision Course 6, which bypassed his retirement clause. He quickly defeated “Captain” Emeral T. Stevenson in this bout, but his long-time nemesis, the Undertaker, also entered the open and faced Gangrel. The two battled each other out of the ring and up the aisle, when they were both counted out and were eliminated from the $25,000 Open.
