Ellina Blazer made her NWF debut in 1999 calling herself Alina “the Crusher” McMatlla. In fact you can read about her debut in an old Smith Say’s column in the News section. She took a lot of heat for being related to Josh McMullin. Because people on the roster thought she got the job only because she was his relative.
Ellina used the heat from the roster to fuel her in the ring and gained many victories with her vengeful attitude. With all the rage built up in side her she started to let out these loud screams during her matches as a sociological advantage throwing off her opponents. She would finish off her opponents using a submission move she called the McMatlock also known as the Texas Clover Leaf.
With those screams of hers and the deliberate plan of attack during her matches made people realize that Ellina is a lot more cerebral than people thought. She would always have a game plan for every match she was in.
Then Josh McMullin noticed the impact that Alina was making and asked her to join his stable Money Inc along with Jake Pain, Red Blazer, Gerry McMullin, and Shirly Bane. Alina figured people were already blaming her for having her job because of Josh so why not just join him and win.
Alina used her cerebral nature, affiliation with Josh McMullin and Jake Pain, and a new finishing move she calls the Screamer to capture NWF TV titles, Cruiser Weight titles and a reign as North American champion. Something else came to Alina while in the Money Inc., stable and that was love.
This is when Alina met Red. Red Blazer that is. It was apparent that Alina and Red were quite a compatible pair. It even seemed that the Red Blazer had a calming effect on Alina. After a few months of dating Alina and Red decided to get married.
When the two got married Alina decided to change her name to Ellina. The name of her great grandmother, and that is how Alina “the Crusher” McMatalla became Ellina Blazer.
While Red and Ellina’s relationship continued to bloom Money Inc was having problems. Because of pressures put on by Vince McMullin Money Inc ended up breaking up. With Josh and Jake going one way, Ellina and Red going another and Gerry and Bane yet going another.
The break up of Money Inc. didn’t slow down Ellina and Red one bit. The pair would go on to win three Tag Team championships. In the biggest Tag Team match of Red and Ellina’s career would come at Collision Course 3 when they would take on Mae Young and MS. Scarlet for the Tag Titles.
The Blazers would come up victorious at Collision Course 3 winning the titles, but right after the match the Blazers would turn on the NWF joining Dayhawk’s fight to destroy the NWF.
The Blazers were a big reason why Dayhawk’s invasion was successful. Things were going good for the Blazers until Dayhawk’s control over the NWF was lost and all power was striped from Dayhawk when he lost his amulet. Then the people loyal to the NWF went after the people who jumped ship and the Blazers got there come upings and lost the Tag Titles.
There was more bad news for the Blazers when Vince McMullin had financial problems and owed taxes to the government and the government came in and took control of the NWF splitting the rosters in two. There was a draft to be held with Jumping Jack Johnson to draft for Mayham and Shawn London to draft for Chaos. In the draft Ellina ended up on Chaos and Red ended up on Mayham.
With Red on Mayham Ellina was lost for a while on Chaos until a old friend came a calling. Jake Pain asked Ellina to join a stable he was creating Called Pain and Punishment along with Iceberg, and Alexander Morton. Pain and Punishment gained immediate success, winning the Best Group award for 2003.
When Vince McMullin paid up and gained control of the NWF the rosters were merged back together. Ellina and Red got to be together again, but realized that professionally they wanted different things and decided to go there separate ways professionally.
Then Ellina turned her sights on the Women’s title eventually capturing it and defending it at Collision Course 5 against Xena. The match was really hard fought and Ellina ended up coming out on the losing end making Ellina furious.
Ellina held this loss inside for a whole year until Collision Course 6 came around and decided to get revenge on Xena. Ellina sneaked attacked Gabrielle and dressed up like the Red blazer and attacked Xena on a number of occasions. Xena finally caught on and challenged Ellina to a match at Collision Course.
What Xena didn’t tell Ellina about the match at Collision Course is that it was going to be a Foam From Hell match, which really surprised Ellina. During the match Xena was in of the match and was going to finish Ellina off with the Shockrahm while Ellina was covered in the foam, but Ellina moved and then Ellina hit the Screamer on Xena to win the match. This match is considered one of the matches of the year.
With the revenge on Xena complete Ellina has decided to become the first female wrestler to lead a stable, so Ellina has created the Scream Factory. She recruited some of the NWF’s young talent. Ellina got Loco, Ian Anderson and Wesley Burgess to join her stable.
Now only time will tell if Ellina and Scream Factory will come to dominate the NWF or not. With the very cunning and caniving Ellina at the helm I would say there is a lot of success in the future for the Scream Factory.
