Inspector Covington Rhodes debuted in the NWF in 2002, and he got off to a decent start by helping people solve the mystery of there missing stuff when he discovered that the King of Thieves Autolycus was the culprit behind the thefts. Then he teamed up with Showtime at the biggest show of the year Collision Course 4 to take on Autolycus, Hercules and Hypnosis. Rhodes and Showtime scored the upset to get the Inspector his biggest win of his short but promising career.

In the ensuing years the Inspector continued to help out his fellow wrestlers, and then one Mayham Rhodes helped Safety Guy win a match in a #1 contendership for the world title tournament shocking everyone. The Inspector would then tell us he was sick of helping people who couldn’t help themselves, and he was going to align himself with Safety Guy and Valor Valency to form the Wrestling Guard.
